The New Zealand cricket team’s troubles show no signs of easing ahead of their five-match ODI series against India. Opening batter Devon Conway has been ruled out of the first ODI due to an injury.
The first match of the five-match ODI series between India and New Zealand is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 4, at Eden Park in Auckland. However, during a practice session held at the venue a day before the match, Devon Conway sustained an injury while fielding.

Fast bowler Matt Henry also experienced a minor issue and received treatment from the medical team. Given the severity of his injury, Conway has had to be admitted to a hospital, which means he will miss the first ODI against Team India. A decision regarding Matt Henry’s participation will be made on the day of the match.
Prior to Devon Conway, both Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra had already been ruled out of the entire series due to injuries. The five-match ODI series against India begins on November 4.
Mark Chapman sustained an injury to his left hamstring while playing in the European T20 Premier League. Following an MRI scan, New Zealand Cricket confirmed that the middle-order batter requires a few more weeks of rehabilitation to regain full match fitness, forcing him to withdraw from the bilateral series.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has also been ruled out of the ODI series against India after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder during a promotional shoot. Although he is recovering, the medical staff believes that Ravindra is not yet fit enough to comfortably perform throws or field in high-intensity white-ball cricket.
